Controller/accessory bundles are an entirely different matter; New Play Control was merely Nintendo's branding for a series of enhanced GameCube to Wii conversions, emphasizing the addition of motion controls to the games.

I want to point out that refurbished copies of New Play Control games in the US say Wii Play Control, as well as potentially some more obscure variants where they updated the cover

The Xbox "World Collection" seems to be in a similar situation, yet it is treated as an edition.

Those are a series of releases of overseas games for the Japanese market released under that label; it makes sense for World Collection to be the Redump edition for those discs.
