For some reason I think Samsung SH-D162C/D KREON is the way to go,
but I would like to hear out your opinions, so that I make the best choice possible.
Price is not the issue.
Thanks in advance!
what drive should I buy for xbox360 dumping ?
Re: what drive should I buy for xbox360 dumping ?
That's what I've been using. Got it very cheap and so far it's always worked for me. It can also dump DC discs (more or less
) so you won't regret buying it. The only thing it lacks is overreading, but if you're only gonna use it for 360 dumping this is irrelevant.

Re: what drive should I buy for xbox360 dumping ?
Thanks amarok.
Do you think you can also tell me how to dump games using the aforementioned drive, or at least what software do I use?
You can PM the reply if you don't want to claim publicly for any reasons.
Your (or anyone else's) help is appreciated!

I have one Xbox 360 demo disc missing in database - "Microsoft Live Arcade - Compilation Disc (Europe)". I don't know how I can dump this disc. My drives is NEC and Plextor (models of drives I don't remember). Please help me with guide.

Re: what drive should I buy for xbox360 dumping ?
I believe it's not possible to dump Xbox 360 discs with these drives. They cannot access the game data on the discs, only the video partition. The only drive I can confirm as working is the Samsung SH-D162 with Kreon firmware.

Re: what drive should I buy for xbox360 dumping ?
To be exactly all drives, which are working for Dreamcast dumping, can be used here also (with a little exception that they can not be used to read SS sector data, but DMI & PFI can be read out)

Oh cool, I didn't know that. Do you know what sets these drives apart so they can read these discs?
Re: what drive should I buy for xbox360 dumping ?
I didn't tell you, that's the reason ,)amarok wrote:I didn't know that
Well, they have to be taken apart, yes! There are some different reasons why that has to be done. And using these drives is much more work (and more complicated) than using a Samsung drive with a hacked firmware -> Kreon.amarok wrote:Do you know what sets these drives apart so they can read these discs?

Hehe, no, I said "sets apart", not "take apart". I mean, what is different about these drives so they can read these discs most other drives obviously can't read?
