Suggestion for a new drive please (PSX related)

Post by Devcon »

Hi guys,

I'm planning on buying a new cd-burner in a few days, but i want an unit capable of overreading in/out.

I already have a LG with +667 offset so i think the new burner will complement the one i have.

Can anyone suggest a drive (a new one, not the old plextors selled on ebay)? I'm mostly interested on dumping PSX games so far.

Thanks.

P.S : Yeah, i know, my english is pretty bad xD

Hi devcon,

you can search for drives based on your criteria here: http://daefeatures.co.uk/search.php.

I recommend setting Accurate Stream to 'Yes' and Overread to 'Lead Out' or 'Both'. You'll get a huge list of drives from different manufacturers then which are principally suited for PSX (and most other systems) dumping. Even though this database maybe doesn't feature the newest drives you should definitely be able to find most of those on eBay for a very low price.

Thanks for the answers,

What drive is better? the px-760a or px755a?

I saw one 760a here:  http://cgi.ebay.es/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie … 0417515285 for 2,50 euros.

Are they really that cheap?
