CloneCD/IsoBuster Cue Sheet Discrepancy

I have been dumping my CDs with both IsoBuster and CloneCD, and I just noticed that they generated different cue sheets. All my CloneCD cue sheets are Mode 1, while all my IsoBuster are Mode 2.

For example, for one disc CloneCD created:

Code: Select all

FILE "th06.img" BINARY
   TRACK 1 MODE1/2352
   INDEX 1 00:00:00
For the same disc, IsoBuster gave me:

Code: Select all

FILE "CD.iso" BINARY

REM ORIGINAL MEDIA-TYPE: CD

REM SESSION 01 ; Not supported by other applications (*)
    TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
      INDEX 01 00:00:00
      REM MSF: 00:00:00 = LBA: 0

REM (*) SESSION directives are unfortunately not properly supported
REM 'out there'. IsoBuster however supports them !
Both image files are identical.

Before noticing this, I submitted four discs with the IsoBuster cue sheet. The three that were already in the database are listed as Mode 1, unlike my submitted cue sheet. The fourth was a new disc and has been added as Mode 2, and I believe this may be an error.

Am I doing something wrong when dumping? Is this a problem with my drive? I am currently trying to get a dump with cue sheet on another machine to see if I get similar results.

Since the extracted images have the same crc, just open the extracted image in a HEX editor and look at the last pair of bytes in the fist line. If "01" -> Mode1 ; If "02" -> Mode 2

Code: Select all

00 FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 00 00 02 00 01
So it looks like it is Mode 1. Thanks!

IsoBuster has had this mode2 bug for quite some time, don't bother using it for cue sheets.
