Process on redump to distinguish between good dump, bad dump and alt

I'm curious, what is the process on redump for each of these situations?:
1) When a dumper submits a new hash for their disc, due to using a newer tool (e.g. redumper over DIC). Are the old and new disc images ever compared? e.g. https://redump.info/queue/446875
2) When another person submits a different hash with the same or similar ringcode? What determines if its an alt or not? Comparing the files on the disc?
