Games with Laserlock protection

I'm trying to dump MDK2, a PC game with Laserlock protection (the one with the unreadable "ring" on the surface of the CD), but I can't seem to get any consistent result. I tried using DDump with the LASERLOCK option, but I get different images and logs with each drive. Does anyone know if there's a safe method for dumping these things?
