Seems you are making some headway with this, I'll start testing it too then.

I have a PX-W1210A and a PX-W1610A also, I can test some things with it. I do know that px_d8 fails with certain discs. Firmwares are latest ones. I am not sure if it's a bug with px_d8 or if it's a problem with the firmware.

I have tested a multisession disc, Blue Book standard. CUE file isn't created properly. The cue format file doesn't support multisession, but IsoBuster and ImgBurn can, extra officially, support it. I have dumped this Blue Book using ImgBurn and IsoBuster, and I have got identical dumps, but ImgBurn can previously detect gaps, ISRCs, MCN and other flags. Also, I have noticed that these programs fill the gap between the last sector of session 1 and first sector of session 2 with digital silence, to simulate the gap between both sessions.

Your software outputs this cue:

Code: Select all

FILE "multisession (Track 1).bin" BINARY
  TRACK 01 AUDIO
    ISRC GBAAP0200496
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "multisession (Track 2).bin" BINARY
  TRACK 02 AUDIO
    ISRC GBAAP0200531
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "multisession (Track 3).bin" BINARY
  TRACK 03 AUDIO
    ISRC GBAAP0200408
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "multisession (Track 4).bin" BINARY
  TRACK 04 MODE2/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
IsoBuster outputs:

Code: Select all

FILE "CD.iso" BINARY

REM ORIGINAL MEDIA-TYPE: CD

REM SESSION 01 ; Not supported by other applications (*)
    TRACK 01 AUDIO
      INDEX 01 00:00:00
      REM MSF: 00:00:00 = LBA: 0
    TRACK 02 AUDIO
      INDEX 01 03:27:66
      REM MSF: 03:27:66 = LBA: 15591
    TRACK 03 AUDIO
      INDEX 01 07:14:28
      REM MSF: 07:14:28 = LBA: 32578

REM LEAD-OUT 11:01:20 ; Not supported by other applications (*)
REM SESSION 02 ; Not supported by other applications (*)
    TRACK 04 MODE2/2352
      INDEX 01 13:33:20
      REM MSF: 13:33:20 = LBA: 60995

REM (*) SESSION directives are unfortunately not properly supported
REM 'out there'. IsoBuster however supports them !
ImgBurn outputs:

Code: Select all

FILE "DATA.BIN" BINARY
REM SESSION 01
    TRACK 01 AUDIO
      ISRC GBAAP0200496
      INDEX 01 00:00:00
    TRACK 02 AUDIO
      ISRC GBAAP0200531
      INDEX 01 03:27:66
    TRACK 03 AUDIO
      ISRC GBAAP0200408
      INDEX 01 07:14:28
  REM LEAD-OUT 11:01:20
REM SESSION 02
    TRACK 04 MODE2/2352
      INDEX 01 13:33:20
  REM LEAD-OUT 23:04:00

Here are a few drive issues to make note of:

PX-W1210TA/PX-W2410TA (Data-only CDs):
Sense data, Key:Asc:Ascq:05:64:00(ILLEGAL_REQUEST. ILLEGAL MODE FOR THIS TRACK)

PX-W1210TA/PX-W2410TA (CDs without CD-TEXT):
Sense data, Key:Asc:Ascq:05:24:00(ILLEGAL_REQUEST. INVALID FIELD IN CDB)
CDTEXT on SCSIOP_READ_TOC
    Undefined CDROM_READ_TOC_EX_FORMAT_CDTEXT on this drive

PX-W2410TA (CDs with CD-TEXT):
Doesn't dump tracks correctly. Bad TOC MSF for last audio track (PX-W1210TA also has this issue).

These are issues with discimagecreator:

Crashes after running these commands (Tested 32bit):
DiscImageCreator.exe -c D:
DiscImageCreator.exe -s D:

End line issue:
DiscImageCreator.exe -split foo.dec
DiscImageCreator BuildDate:[Jan 28 2013 23:59:57]
Start -> 2013-01-28(Mon) 14:40:03
Split File(num)  5/ 5End -> 2013-01-28(Mon) 14:40:57

ReadMe.txt issue:
PX-W2410TA(PX-W2410A)    1.04    +686 is right
+98 is right, but -686 is needed for PerfectRip

Could you also add this issue to the first post?:
Program does not keep periods in the file name (v1.1 gets named as v1)

Thank you Enker.

Sense data, Key:Asc:Ascq:05:64:00(ILLEGAL_REQUEST. ILLEGAL MODE FOR THIS TRACK)

I get this too for PX-W1210TA and PX-W1610TA, but only for SOME discs, not all.

I think it is a firmware issue.

Does anyone have PX-W4012 and PX-W4220 to test?

Why is needed for PerfectRip?
Enker wrote:Program does not keep periods in the file name (v1.1 gets named as v1)
Determined that the period since the last extension.
So, please specify an extension.
This issue is Windows OS specification.

with extension

Code: Select all

DiscImageCreator BuildDate:[Jan 30 2013 02:12:29]
OS
         BuildNumber: 7601
        MajorVersion: 6

        drive: C:
          dir: \
        fname: toshinden V1.1
          ext: .bin
without extension? No, generally, it is interpreted that ".1" is extension.

Code: Select all

I think it is probably a drive firmware issue causing this to happen. I tested CDs with CD-TEXT and without CD-TEXT, both need -686 in PerfectRip. EAC needs +98 for both. Hopefully you can find the cause when you get the drive.

That explains it. I wasn't adding an extension since it's usually added automatically. Can you make the program ignore extensions?

Enker, could you try PF with/without subcode reading, and check if both dumps differ? I think, due to a bug of firmware, your drive reads one sector before than expected if subcode reading is requested.

That was the issue, thanks! The PerfectRip tracks now match EAC when using -98. I had to manually move the gaps to the correct position, though.
